Camp two over and off to Paris!

The 2nd camp in Parentignat went well though weather wise we had some large swings from 12 degrees and rain to 40 and blistering heat! I managed a few rides with the group which was good work and also allows me to assess fitness levels with a bit more exactitude than from the car. Getting lots sorted with powermeters, riders programs, and so forth!

Camp Finale and Tour of Poland arrive

After Saturday's challenging but very fulfilling 205kms we were up for a 9h-11h 2hour cleansing ride, all in all an easy spin. In the afternoon we were off again for some power starts, time to get the neuromuscular system back in reaction action! yesterday was hot and heavy, first day in shorts and short sleeves as the boys attacked some vo2 threshold work and today a beautiful circuit over two small (1100m) mountains with lactique 1' efforts. This week has been brilliant, not always easy to change a group's eating habits but the scale was in our favor!

Another Victory for BBOX!!!!!

After a 205kms ride up to SuperBesse and then up and over a plateau at 1300m on saturday, yesterday the boys had a 2 hours recupe ride in the morning and in the afternoon we had a good 70kms ride with explosive efforts. short and sweet. When we'd left in the morning our team mate Fedrigo was in the front so we were all anxious to get back to see how he was doing.

BBOX training camp in the volcanoes of France

Time flies!!! 3rd day of camp in Parentignac, the ancient volcanic region of France. South of Clermont Ferrand and right next to Issoire wherever we ride too from here we have long gradual climbs to cover. The boys arrived on wednsday morning and right after lunch we went to test the terrain. Long stretches resemble the far west of the US, colorado mountains with gorgeous tall pine trees lining the roads....We covered 110kms with over 1500m of +elevation...

I'm Back!!!

It has been a while! Been quite busy sorting out training tools, doing research on getting faster, using the windtunnel, aero equipment, better prep and in race food, comfy riding clothes, saddles, etcetc... Instead of back tracking and bringing you up to today Ill just start with today! Stage 2 of the Tour and with 2 kms to go Thomas Voeckler was at the front leading out William Bonnet and promptly warning him that a big cement island was in their way...The Colombia train was in full tilt but it was good to see the boys in turqoise give it a go.

La Marion Clignet 2009

On May 24th, 2009, my local cycling club put out tremendous energy to organize the first ever fund ride for research on epilepsy. 2 rides were held THE TENACIOUS 120kms over my old training roads in the hills of the GERS region and THE BALLAD a 50kms ride, shorter but not necessarily easier...

European Conference on epilepsy in Berlin and Ambassador summit in Bruxelles

Location:
berlin to brussels
Date:
09/28/2008
The mad dash started when I crossed the finish line in Lyon...I hailed a cab, went up to the auberge where we had stayed, showered, got in another cab and went to some friend's house who lived near the airport. They dropped me off and I was on my way to Berlin via two planes one of which would temporarily lose my luggage. par for the course.

2008 European Federation of Neurological Societies Conférence

Hello from Madrid, September 23-26, site of the 2008 European Federation of Neurological Societies conférence. My rôle hère is that of a ‘roving reporter’ meaning I will attend courses intended for neurologists, visit poster sessions and sit in on lectures and debates where neurologists may devulge new research, discuss research already done, and cover subjects that as patients with epilepsy we are all keen to discover.

La Ronde des fleurs-10kms Luchon

So....after a wee break well needed after the duathlon championships..I spent two days in the UK filming an educational podcast that will be up soon on www.livebeyonepilepsy.com I walked like John Wayne for four days since my quads were so sore and got back into running and riding easy. August 21 I set a personal best at the Ronde des Fleurs in Luchon-a small but large pyreneen mountain town at the foot of superbagneres. The course was 3 laps of 3.something kms to make the total 10kms exactly.
