Asian and Oceanian Epilepsy Congress

7th Asian and Oceanian Epilepsy Congress in Xiamen China. This congress is an opportunity to raise awareness of epilepsy in the Asian and Oceanian region as well as to highlight the challenes facing those working to imporve the quality of life for people with epilepsy. The meeting is attended by neurologists, associations, care takers, and patients. The neurologists were able to give testimony on the rapid progress of new AED's and their success as well as on epilepsy research in the region. I myself opened the UCB Sattelite symposium outlining that where there is a will there is a way.
This symposium provided a platform for the South-South and the North-South to exchange and establish contacts in order to cooperate and network for epilepsy care and research.
